Families looking for a home with a separate ‘annexe’, perhaps for an elderly relative, guests or grown up children, could find the key to shared living near Malvern, in Worcestershire.

Elan Homes has two large, executive homes for sale at The Orchard, off Gloucester Road, in the sought-after village of Welland, which each incorporates a secondary, self-contained dwelling; with its own entrance, kitchen, shower room and living area.

In each house the annexe is located on the lower ground floor but provides a light and airy living space. It means the properties are perfect for families who want to share a home but still want everyone to enjoy having their own individual space.

The two distinct designs, the Nightingale and the Melrose, are part of a small and exclusive development of just four detached homes, which form an attractive horse shoe layout. The setting provides a quiet and private community close to a host of local amenities and with great commuter links.

Beverley Rickard, sales manager for Elan, said: “These properties will suit a wide range of purchasers. For example, they would be ideal for a family looking to live with an older relative who wants to retain their independence. Alternatively, the separate suite can be a great option for teenagers who want their own space, or is just as suitable for occasional guests. Each annexe is accessible via the main accommodation or through its own entrance providing a degree of autonomy.

“Each house on the development has been meticulously designed to the smallest details and offers the most discerning buyers an uncompromising specification in a fantastic location. As would be expected, everything in each property is brand new including state of the art appliances, and ready for buyers to put their own unique stamp on it.”

The homes are ready to move into in spring. The four-bedroom Nightingale house type is priced at £570,000 and the five-bedroom Melrose at £595,000. One other five-bedroom detached home is still available priced at £575,000. Each home has a detached double garage and is set on around a fifth of an acre encompassing a large garden.

The highly sought after village of Welland affords its residents with the essential village amenities including a Post Office, general stores, church and a primary school. Commuters are just six miles from Junction 1 of the M50/M5 motorway at Upton.

Welland is around five miles from the town of Great Malvern, which offers a wider range of amenities such as shops, banks, Waitrose and Somerfield supermarkets, a renowned theatre and cinema complex and the Splash leisure pool and gymnasium. The mainline railway station at Great Malvern provides links to Worcester, Birmingham, London (Paddington), Hereford and South Wales.

The homes at The Orchard are currently being marketed through Connells Estate agents in Malvern. For further details, visit elan-homes.co.uk.
