Red Devil Team Comtec unveil new drivers & main partner
Red Devil Team Comtec will unveil their new driver’s at this year’s Autosport Show, on the Autosport stand, live at the NEC, Birmingham on Thursday, 11th January 2007.In addition, they will be officially introducing Red Devil International as a major team partner for 2007 and confirming that all 2006 sponsors have re-signed for the 2007 season
#1 Driver: Jaap Van Lagen
Nationality: Dutch
Date of Birth: 5th January 1978
Hobbies: Squash, karting and drifting
Brief Biography: Jaap’s motorsport career started in 1998 in the Citreon Saxo Cup Championship, which he won consecutively in 1998 and 1999. He then drove in the Formula Ford Championship in 2001/02. In 2003 he won the Formula Volkswagen Championship in Germany. That same year he was crowned Dutch Drift Challenge winner. In 2004 he moved to Formula Renault V6 Eurocup, finishing 7th overall with 2 wins during the season. In 2005 he came 9th overall in the World Series by Renault 3.5 and placed 2nd in Monaco. He was again crowned Dutch Drift Challenge Champion. In 2006 Jaap raced for Equipe Verschurr and won the Renault Eurocup Megane Championship after his team mate Ten Brinke lent him his car after he’d crashed his during earlier testing. He is well known to Comtec having raced with them at Monaco and Spa during their successful 2006 season.

#2 Driver: Alejandro Núñez
Nationality: Spanish (Madrid, Spain)
Date of Birth: 25th February 1984 in Madrid
Hobbies: Tennis, Cycling, Music and going to the cinema
Brief Biography: Alejandro’s motorsport career started in karts when he was just four years old. He competed within the Spanish and European Championships from 1995 until 1999. In 2001, he raced in the Spanish Formula Libre Series, finishing 2nd place overall in his rookie year. For 2002/03 he competed in the Spanish Formula 3 Series (part season). In 2004 he finished 10th in the Spanish F3 Series driving for with Meycom. In 2005 he raced for the Austrian HBR team in the F3 Euro Series. In 2006 he drove again for the Italian Prema Power Team.
Comtec Comment: With intensive driver training from our Driver Development Manager, we aim to help Alejandro reach his full potential as a winning World Series Driver.
