VW’s Passat CC doesn’t just have the marque’s new corporate nose, it also has a raft of improvements under the skin too. Taking these extensive changes on board, respected suspension manufacturer Eibach has already released a range of fully TUV-approved suspension upgrades for the latest version of the desirable saloon. This expeditious feat of engineering is in no small part down to the fact that the German suspension manufacturer has long been the approved accessory partner for the Wolfsburg concern, granting it unparalleled access to all chassis data throughout the new model’s development cycle.
Like the earlier version, the new CC handles extremely well in standard trim, making it the perfect recipient for a subtle visual drop with improved dynamics. In standard form the car is finely balanced and a brilliant drive, but for those looking to achieve the ultimate in pin-point handling, without upsetting the VW’s superb road manners, Eibach have released a selection of chassis upgrades to endow the Passat with unparalleled handling. This is achieved without inducing harshness or spoiling the car’s balance and works perfectly in tandem with the magnetic damping system, where fitted.
The Pro-Kit lowers the car by approximately 30mm and offers an a more aggressive stance, better handling and grip due to a lower centre of gravity and improved braking and steering dynamics thanks to reduced dive, roll and squat. Eibach’s unique progressive winding technology offers everyday comfort at low speeds and during cruising, balanced by exceptional handling and feedback during hard cornering.
This can be improved further with the application of the Anti-Roll kit. These precision-engineered bars decrease the load difference between the inner and outer wheels during cornering, neutralizing understeer and maintaining spring comfort under bilateral deflection. The upshot of this is a car that corners flatter, without any increase in harshness.
For drivers seeking the ultimate in dynamics and aesthetics, Eibach also offer a wide selection of Pro-Spacers. These are precision manufactured, hub-centring spacers which are machined from aerospace grade aluminium.
