First-time buyer Lewis Binfield got a helping hand securing a brand new property in Nuneaton at Taylor Wimpey’s Swans Bridge Gardens development.

Securing a first home can be an expensive business and increasing numbers of Warwickshire property-seekers are being discouraged from purchasing a house by the need for big deposits.

However, thanks to Taylor Wimpey and the fantastic easystart shared equity scheme, Lewis Binfield was able to fulfil his dreams of purchasing a property in Warwickshire by the tender age of just 23.

This superb incentive gave Lewis the opportunity to choose from a selection of stunning properties at the leading housebuilder’s Swans Bridge Gardens development of new homes for sale in Nuneaton – and secure his favourite plot with just a 5% deposit!

“I’d been looking to buy my own place for a few years, but finding the right location and saving enough money to secure a house was proving really difficult,” says Lewis, a health and safety officer.

“That was until I saw Taylor Wimpey’s Swans Bridge Gardens development of properties for sale in Warwickshire and heard about easystart shared equity. It’s a great scheme for anyone like me who is trying to get on the property ladder, but thinks it might be too expensive.

“Thanks to easystart, I only had to put down a small deposit on my new house. This made all the difference and gave me the opportunity to become a homeowner much sooner than might otherwise have been possible.”

Easystart shared equity lets qualifying first-time buyers like Lewis secure selected new homes at the development for just 85% of their full price, including a 5% deposit, subject to status. Taylor Wimpey then boosts the downpayment with a 15% equity loan repayable over 10 years in up to three instalments, at the market value of the property when payments are made.

By using this exceptional scheme, Lewis was able to purchase a beautiful ‘Barwell’ property at Swans Bridge Gardens.

“It’s a three-bedroom end terraced house and it’s the ideal property for me,” he says. “There’s a spacious lounge downstairs, plus a separate kitchen and plenty of outdoor space. My plot is set back as part of a lovely little cul-de-sac, and it’s in a nice, quiet part of Nuneaton.

“I’m a bit picky, so I’ve already started choosing what finishing touches to have done. As it’s my first property, I really want everything to be right for when I move in later this year.

“It’s really exciting, I can’t wait to settle in and show it off to my friends and family.”

Easystart shared equity is currently available at Swans Bridge Gardens with the two-bedroom ‘Clayton’ coach house-style apartment, which is available under the scheme for 85% of its £119,995 full price – that’s just £101,996, including a 5% deposit of only £6,000.

Alternatively, the three-bedroom ‘Severn’ semi-detached house, priced £169,995, can be secured for an 85% price of as little as £144,496, while there’s a selection of four-bedroom detached houses also currently on sale from just £199,995 at the development.

Swans Bridge Gardens enjoys a convenient location on the south-western fringes of Nuneaton, a historic town famous as the home of Victorian novelist George Eliot.

Within walking distance of the new homes are the fantastic leisure facilities of Bermuda Park, including a multi-screen cinema, bowling alley, gym and a choice of restaurants.

Nuneaton itself benefits from superb local shopping facilities including a choice of supermarkets and the bustling twice-weekly market, as well as a selection of independent and high street shops.

There’s a wide range of leisure and sporting facilities in the town, while the beautiful Warwickshire countryside is right on the doorstep to enjoy – and families will appreciate that schools for all ages are located just a short distance from Swans Bridge Gardens.
