Time running out to become a millionaire at Druids Glen

16th May 2012 Print

Golfers are running out of time if they want to register for the chance to become a millionaire with Druids Glen resort's fantastic Shot in a Million competition.

People have until the end of May to sign up and enter the promotion, which is available to anyone who plays on the County Wicklow venue's Druids Glen or Druids Heath courses from Monday to Thursday.

Each day players are entered into a draw from which the daily winners will then be invited back on June 1 to play in the competition.

The lucky 75 chosen golfers will then tee up on Druids Glen's signature par-three 12th hole for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to try to beat odds of 12,750 to one to claim the seven-figure prize jackpot.

With midweek golf on Druids Glen costing as little as €50 and Druids Heath from €35, the competition is a great opportunity to enjoy a wonderful day's golf as well as a potentially life-changing experience!

Sofia Hansson, business and sports tourism executive at Tourism Ireland, said: "It's every golfer's dream to have a hole-in-one and to win such an amazing prize as well would complete a magical day for anyone.

"It's a great time to be playing golf in Ireland and the strengthening of the pound against the euro means there are some fantastic savings to be had on golf breaks."

With two of the four reigning Major champions including world number one Rory McIlroy, Irish golf prospects have never looked better.

Tourism Ireland is undertaking a number of exciting initiatives this year to promote the sport to a wider audience - including exhibiting at this month's Golf Live show - in the build-up to the Irish Open, which takes place at Royal Portrush from June 28 to July 1.

Boasting some of the most famous venues anywhere in the world, Ireland offers golfers the complete package with top championship courses, stunning scenery, fascinating history and some of the best craic around.
