Publishing platform CreateSpace launches in Europe
Amazon has announced that CreateSpace has launched in Europe enabling authors and publishers around the world to independently publish and distribute their books in print on Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.es, Amazon.it and Amazon.com.
CreateSpace is an easy, fast and economical way for authors to independently publish and make their books available in print to readers. By publishing on the CreateSpace platform, authors will be able to make their titles directly available to customers on Amazon.com and Amazon's European websites, accessing a wider audience than ever before. Authors will earn industry-leading royalties by working with Amazon, while continuing to own the rights and have creative control over their work.
"Using CreateSpace enables UK authors to make their books available to millions of customers in Europe and the US, unlocking the potential to increase their revenue by selling globally," said Libby Johnson McKee, Managing Director, CreateSpace. "We are continually working to deliver exceptional value and world-class customer service to our CreateSpace authors worldwide. Simultaneous distribution in the US and Europe is yet another great example of our commitment to helping authors succeed."
British author Mark Chisnell independently publishes through CreateSpace. "It was really exciting to see CreateSpace expand their distribution to Amazon's European websites. As a British author, I have lots of UK readers and they can now buy my paperback books at a great price with next day delivery, I got my first sales within minutes of the book appearing on Amazon.co.uk!"
With CreateSpace's manufacturing-on-demand model, books are produced when an Amazon customer places an order; the author doesn't have to make an up-front investment in inventory. Books distributed through CreateSpace are available in each country for same-day shipment, and are also eligible for free-shipping and Amazon Prime.
CreateSpace authors will be able to receive their royalty payments by direct deposit in British Pounds, Euros or US dollars, and if they need help at any point in the independent publishing process, they can take advantage of CreateSpace's English language professional services and 24/7 support.
