Don’t get caught in the parent trap

11th June 2012 Print

If you’re aged between 20 and 34 and still live with your parents but are looking to flee the family home, you’re not alone. Recent research from the ONS highlights a third of men and a fifth of women in the UK are in the same position.

Those living at home in Newquay are being encouraged not to despair as help is at hand from Taylor Wimpey Exeter. The leading homebuilder boasts a range of desirable yet affordable properties at its Trevenson Meadows development in the town, which are ideal for first time buyers.

Janine Davey, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Exeter, explains: “Many twenty-somethings may have resided to the fact that they can’t afford to step on to the property ladder, but we’re here to prove this just isn’t the case in Newquay.

“We have a selection of 2 bedroom apartments at Trevenson Meadows which are available on our Local Homes For Local People scheme, meaning they are within reach for house hunters who have only managed to save a low deposit.”

Taylor Wimpey is offering local people a 40 per cent discount on a selection of the properties available, meaning the apartments are available from as little as £91,995.

The incentive is open to all house hunters who have grown up in the area or have close connections to the town either through family or work, and have a household income of less than £60,000.

Janine concludes: “The scheme is already proving popular with a variety of house hunters and is a perfect option for those who are keen to set up their own home and are looking for somewhere truly special without breaking the bank.”

Trevenson Meadows is situated in an excellent location in the popular coastal town of Newquay. There are numerous amenities on the doorstep including supermarkets, bars and restaurants as well attractions such as the Zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium.

For walkers and cyclists, the tranquillity of Bodmin Moor is nearby to enjoy or, for the more adventurous, there is the opportunity to try water sports in the ‘surfing capital of Britain.’ For commuters, Newquay has good road, rail and air links with access to the A30, A38 and M5 as well as the local train station and Newquay and Cornwall Airport.
