That touch of class: Timeless interior designs to revamp your salon

20th June 2012 Print

First impressions last; so when a new client walks into, or even past your salon, you need to impress them by displaying your business at its very best. Whether the design of your salon offers historical elegance or contemporary style, it needs to reflect your business and your brand.

A modern take on history

Take the Atelier Salon and Spa in Redbourn, Hertfordshire, for example. This salon is located in a Grade II listed building, parts of which date back to the 17th century. This meant some of the original features couldn't be altered. The owners, however, were keen to reflect a contemporary outlook as part of the design and with this is mind the interior was modelled to blend the old and the new; with stunning results.

On entering the Atelier Salon you are greeted at the bespoke reception desk which is made from oak in a simple, chic design. By combining stunning hair salon furniture with modern mirrors and age-old feature fireplaces, the owners have created a tasteful area where the old meets the new.

Natural beauty

The Essence Hair and Beauty Salon in Berkshire has taken a slightly different, but equally appealing, slant on timeless design. By using natural materials and neutral walls, Essence brings nature's style and beauty to an urban setting.

Here, large mahogany-framed mirrors line the walls, interspersed by small co-ordinating cabinets and even the exterior of the salon is dressed in the same dark wood. To clients, this salon offers a sense of peace, tranquillity and natural strength, even before they cross over the threshold.

Trend-setting style

The Doves Studio differs again in style – this is definitely a haunt for trendsetters. Located mere minutes from Santa Monica's beaches, its black, suspended-level floating ceilings, white walls with splashes of colour and giant, stainless steel, curved colour bars provide a space that exudes cool, sleek style. It's a veritable wonderland of eye-catching design.

Diamonds are forever

If you're looking for something sparkly, Tremayne Salon is the location for you. Themed around the precious metals lining the salon's trophy cabinet, this beauty salon glitters from tip to toe. And the effect is furthered by incorporating timeless aged stone, glass and stainless steel to create an environment that's enduringly stylish.

Opulence personified

Then there's the first Hooker and Young salon, based in Darlington, near Newcastle. With its dark wood and flocked metal wallpaper, this salon exudes luxury. It's this high level of opulence that continues throughout the salon's entirety, with Swarovski crystals hanging in the hair spa, a wall of mirrors in the lounge, two spacious and beautiful bay windows and a chandelier on the staircase. Quite simply, the salon radiates class.

So, here we have five sensationally styled salons, each with a different theme running through them and each one timeless in its own right. But the major factor which has made each of these salon interiors such a success is the passion behind them; the owner's visions to create something beautiful to look at, enticing to customers and eternally elegant.
