29th June 2012 Print

Stanwell House, a boutique hotel located in Lymington on the southern tip of the New Forest National Park has noticed an unprecedented number of enquiries from potential guests during the dates of the Olympic Games (27 July–12 August) wishing to ‘escape’ the invasion.

Just over an hour from London by train, The New Forest, with its National Park status and free roaming wildlife including ponies, cattle and the infamous foraging pigs is a great destination, whatever the season.

One of the more popular activities for guests staying at Stanwell House is to take a day boat from Lymington Harbour to enjoy the famous shoreline of the Solent and Isle of Wight with its panoramic views of the spectacular ’Needles’. Any cobwebs are guaranteed to be swept away and leave you with hearty appetite for the dinner that evening in the hotel’s Bistro or Seafood Restaurant.

The New Forest has many famous visitor attractions including the world-renowned National Motor Museum and Palace House at Beaulieu, historic stately home Braemore House and Exbury Gardens – with over acres of pathways, woods and parkland to explore.

Stanwell House Hotel is located on Lymington High Street and within a 5 minute walk to the picturesque Quay. (Recently voted the most desirable place to live in Britain) with its famous Saturday market which has been trading for over 800 years.

The Georgian property has 30 individually-styled bedrooms, including some suites (ideal for families) and romantic four-poster rooms. At its heart, is a large, comfortable conservatory, which is dog friendly, so owners can enjoy a relaxing morning coffee, informal lunch or dinner with the family pet by their side.

Overnight prices start at just £60 pp (B&B, two sharing) or £85 pp including dinner in the excellent Bistro or Seafood Restaurant (2 AA Rosettes).
