Canon Facebook app and PIXMA software for printing photos

20th July 2012 Print

Canon has launched a new range of photo printing software solutions which make it easier for consumers to organise and print their favourite moments or explore their creativity using their PIXMA printer. The new range includes a Facebook application that makes it easy to print beautiful photos straight from photo albums, whilst new My Image Garden is a one-stop platform that combines all software available for Canon PIXMA printers in a single, easy to use interface.

Print Your Days

Canon has created a new Facebook application, Print Your Days, which makes it easier to enhance and print photos directly from the site without the need for any additional software. The app, which is available online via Facebook, includes tools to allow you to automatically adjust photo layouts and create unique collage prints with up to five photos printed on a page. It also provides a range of style and editing options, including borders, cropping and the ability to add captions as well as colourful photo effects, such as sepia tone for a popular vintage look. A selection of 24 colourful backdrops can be chosen to decorate the background of a collage, ranging from fun spots or stripes to more natural effects such as grass or cork, adding a further creative twist to printing photos.

Print Your Days also makes it possible to print photos uploaded to Facebook by friends, so photos of holidays, birthdays and other special occasions can be easily enjoyed and shared in print as well as online. At launch, the Print Your Days app will be available in English.

My Image Garden

New PIXMA printing software, My Image Garden, makes navigating between Canon’s printing and scanning software effortless. Available for all PIXMA printers launched since Autumn 2010, My Image Garden, is a one-stop platform that combines all software currently available for Canon PIXMA printers through a single, easy-to-use interface. New advanced features include Automatic Suggestion, which searches your PC for stored images and displays forgotten photos on the desktop via a slideshow. The images can then be edited and printed through My Image Garden. Automatic Layout uses image assorting technology to recognise images and automatically recommend the optimum layout for print. Face recognition software also detects faces in photos and automatically groups images together, making it easy to locate shots of particular friends and family.

My Image Garden software will be available for download by the end of July 2012.
