AP Racing, the leading manufacturer of performance braking and clutch systems for race and road use, has launched a range of new front and rear braking kits for a selection of the latest high performance models from BMW.

BMW E60 M5 / E63 M6
The front brake kit (part number: CP5555-T1045) comprises of 6-piston calipers, with a floating strap drive mechanism, coupled with Ø378x36mm 2-piece discs, which are grooved to optimise performance. The rear brake kit (part number: CP6635-1000) features a 4-piston caliper with Ø366x26mm 2-piece discs with integral park brake drum.

The AP Racing-developed Strap Drive System (Patent Pending) offers a new take on the floating systems already in the market place. Using a series of stainless steel straps to locate the disc to the mounting bell, a flexible coupling between the hub and the disc faces is produced, allowing the disc to run true in the caliper under all conditions and also permitting the disc to expand and contract without being restricted.

Although both the front and rear discs are larger than those fitted as standard, the up-rated brakes can be mounted behind the standard 19-inch alloy wheels without any adjustments.

Based on the successful brake kit developed for the E43 M3, the new front brake kit (part number: CP5575-1009) for the latest generation 3-Series comprises of 6-piston calipers and Ø355x32mm 2-piece grooved discs. The rear kit (part number: CP6625-1000) is a 4-pot caliper which mounts over the standard BMW rear disc (not included).

As well as calipers and discs, each of these high performance brake kits includes mounting brackets and bolts, a braided hose kit, Ferodo DS2500 brake pads and Dot 5.1 brake fluid.
