Homebuyers surgery at College Court

Would-be home owners will find Redrow’s ‘homebuyers surgery’ at College Court in Wigan the perfect tonic.
Happening this Saturday (August 18) from 12noon to 4pm, Redrow has called in low cost home ownership experts and mortgage specialists to help inexperienced home buyers get to grips with the different help available to them.
Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), said: “For those who’ve never bought a property before it can be quite daunting. Also, with so much help now available in the shape of Government backed initiatives like FirstBuy and 95% mortgages through NewBuy, it can be quite difficult for customers to know what’s best for them.
“Our homebuyers surgery is designed to simplify the whole process and help them make the right choice. FirstBuy, for example, is a great opportunity for would-be home owners but time and funds are running out so it’s crucial that those interested act now. ”
College Court features a good choice of properties ranging from two-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom detached family homes, but Saturday’s surgery is aimed primarily at those buying their first home or returning to the housing market after a change of circumstances such as divorce or the end of a relationship.
Prices start from £99,995 or as little as £79,996 with FirstBuy as the valuable initiative offers buyers a 20% equity loan towards the cost of a new home.
“Provided their total annual income is less than £60,000 customers should be eligible for FirstBuy, which significantly reduces the cost of the home they’re buying. If they come along to our event they can find out all about it,” Claire explained.
Affordable homes specialists Plumlife, appointed by the HCA to help administer the FirstBuy scheme locally, will be at College Court to explain the application process in simple terms.
Mortgage specialists will also be available to provide would-be home owners with a financial health check and help them find the right mortgage product for their individual circumstances.
“It’s all about helping out customers to make the choice that’s right for them and everything will be explained in clear and simple terms.” Claire added.
Located off Robin Park Road, College Court is centrally placed with local amenities including supermarkets, a retail park, cinema, sports facilities and restaurants. Wigan’s Grand Arcade shopping centre boasts a range of popular high street stores, cafes and bars. The homes are also within easy reach of the M6 motorway and train network for commuting.
