Dots are on the increase this winter

This winter the size of dots seems to be on the increase; over the last few seasons micro dots became mini dots, and they in turn have become large circular orbs. These black orbs, used resolutely through Georgede’s 2012 Winter Collection, create two distinct, differently interpreted patterns:  to some large ebony dots appear against a contrasting off-white background, whilst to others the off-white background appears as mesh punctured with black holes.

Patterns, in general, help to create different illusions and this gives them character and a varying perspective, often making them a more versatile material to work with. Georgede likes to use this juxtaposition to great effect suggesting that it gives its collection an additional dimension.

The black orb pattern is used to particular effect in Georgede’s chiffon range with its knee length sleeveless dress with jacket available for around (£290) and a  long sleeved three layered chiffon dress  also available at around (£220).

Phil Bendavid, creative director of Georgede believes that the use of patterns is one of the most under utilized aspects of design.  He says: “Patterns bring another dimension to fashion. They are both intrinsically interesting to the eye, creating an impression and a subconscious response, and are, more often than not, inherently flattering to wear.”

The Georgede range is available throughout the UK.
