Forge Motorsport alloy radiator for Renault Megane RS250

Forge Motorsport’s range of precision tuning parts for hot French cars seems to be growing at a rate that looks set to catch its extensive German portfolio. Its latest addition is a finely-engineered alloy radiator for the Renault Megane RS250.
The factory-fitted radiator is known to suffer with coolant temperature issues due to both the inlet and outlet flanges being at the top of the unit and in-line with each other. This is fine under normal driving, but when the car is driven hard, the coolant tends to pass directly across the top of the radiator, bypassing the majority of the core. Forge’s engineers analysed this issue and fixed it simply by creating a diagonal flow in their design which uses the whole core – drastically reducing coolant temperatures under hard driving and prolonging engine life.
As well as an improved flow path, Forge’s engineers have maximised the surface area and utilised a high efficiency radiator core with a unique flow enhancement to ensure that the coolant passes evenly across the core and that the area of restricted airflow (behind the crash bumper) is taken into account.
Confident in its design, the prototype unit was sent for independent testing. After numerous tests in a variety of conditions, the findings revealed that the Forge unit not only achieved a reduction of 20°C in peak water temperatures, but also a drop of 15° C in Oil temperatures. Clearly a component that works as well as it looks!
The Forge Renault Megane Alloy Radiator has been carefully designed to bolt in as a direct replacement to the OEM part in a short time, with the most simple of hand tools. It is priced at £575.00 + VAT.
