When Martyna Zimakiewicz and her partner David Fong started their search for a property in May this year they never dreamed they’d be waking up in their new home by August.

But that is exactly what happened when they purchased their brand new four bedroom Harton home at Taylor Wimpey’s Blenheim Meadow development in Cheswick, Bristol.

Martyna said: “We were renting and we weren’t actually planning to buy anything before the end of the year, but in May we started looking and we found the Taylor Wimpey site here in Cheswick. We found the property we liked and we were able to use the NewBuy scheme as we only had a 5% deposit. It all happened really quickly and smoothly and we’re delighted we’re in our new home much sooner than expected.”

Martyna who is originally from Poland and David who grew up in South Africa were attracted by the pioneering spirit of being one of the first settlers in a new community.

Martyna said: “What we really like about Blenheim Meadow is it is part of a completely new village. There will be a school and a real village atmosphere and we will be the ones to make that.”

Martyna works in Bristol in market research and David is an engineer whose work takes him all over the UK and abroad, so location was important to the couple. Martyna said: “We are seemingly in the countryside but travel into the city is easy. We are near to Filton Abbey Wood train station and that takes you quickly into Temple Meads, and there’s the motorway network which is easy to get to. We’re really happy we decided to move here.”

Blenheim Meadow offers a collection of two, three and four bedroom homes with prices starting from £189,995. Taylor Wimpey is currently offering a variety of incentives to help both first and second time buyers at Blenheim Meadow, including the popular NewBuy scheme.

NewBuy, which is available on brand new properties up to the value of £500,000, means that credit-worthy first time buyers may only need to save a 5% deposit before they can get on the property ladder. Home movers with limited equity in their existing house will also benefit from the increase in availability of 95% loan to value mortgages.

Located on the outskirts of Bristol, Cheswick is an exciting suburb designed for life in the 21st century. Straddling the boundaries of Stoke Gifford, Filton and Locklease, Cheswick is surrounded by thriving businesses and the University of the West of England.

The development is less than five miles from Bristol city centre and is close to Bristol Parkway train station. Cheswick is an excellent location for commuters with both the M4 and M5 motorways in easy reach.
