New multi-seaters mix with historic single-seaters at Goodwood

New multi-seaters mix with historic single-seaters at Goodwood In response to the exceptional demand for grandstand seating at Britain’s most popular motor sport event, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the organisers will add an all-new, additional viewing facility for 2007.

To be known as the Corner Grandstand, this new structure will be located at Molecomb Corner, and will afford an exceptional view of the hundreds of exciting competition cars and motor cycles speeding up the celebrated Goodwood hill. The existing viewing facility at the Crossroads in the Park will be improved and developed to extend the already excellent hospitality facilities at the Festival. This new facility will be named the Gurney Pavilion, to honour the outstanding motor racing achievements of American racing legend Dan Gurney.

Demand for a Grandstand seat is traditionally very high at both the Festival of Speed in Goodwood Park and the Goodwood Revival, which is staged each autumn at the nearby Goodwood Motor Circuit. Within 24 hours of the 2007 Goodwood Motor Sport event tickets going on sale on 1 November, a number of grandstand seats for some days of both events had sold out, including the ever-popular Chicane Grandstand for Sunday 2 September at the Goodwood Revival.

Although many grandstand tickets remain available for most days, they are being snapped up at a more rapid pace than they have ever been before, with demand running higher than anticipated. Customers are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.

The 15th Festival of Speed hillclimb will take place at Goodwood House and Park over the weekend of 22 – 24 June, with the Goodwood Revival due to be held at the Motor Circuit over the weekend of 31 August – 2 September. An exciting array of exceptional cars, motorcycles, star drivers and riders are currently being assembled for both events to thrill the crowds. Over the coming weeks and months, Goodwood will keep you informed about the latest news of what to watch out for at these highly popular and delightful historic sporting and social weekends, with something for everyone.

Admission to both of Goodwood’s motor sport events is strictly by advance ticket only.

Tickets for the 2007 Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival, including grandstand seats, can be ordered on-line via at goodwood.co.uk/motorsport/
