Park Holidays UK set to become pop-up idols

Pop-up holidays - short breaks taken on-a-whim - have rapidly been gaining ground this year, according to major leisure group Park Holidays UK.

Now the company has decided to make such spur-of-the-moment decisions even easier to take by introducing budget two-night holidays during autumn.

For just £49.00, a couple or family can make a 48-hour escape to a modern and fully-equipped caravan holiday home in coastal Sussex, Suffolk or Essex.

The cost includes not just use of all the facilities on the park, such as the swimming pool, but also an entertainment pass giving free entry to the nightly cabaret shows.

Bookable only by telephone, the two-night breaks - starting on a Monday or Wednesday - will be based in Park Holiday UK's silver grade accommodation, sleeping up to six people.

Launched just last week, the group's pop-up holidays are already proving a hit with families of pre-school children, and "empty nester" couples able to take off on an impulse:

"Last-minute breaks have defined this year's holiday trends, and we've recorded a large increase in bookings made just days before the departure date," said Park Holidays UK director Tony Clish.

"Demand for such stays is likely to increase in autumn, especially as the forecasters are predicting some prolonged spells of sunny weather over the next couple of months.

"Forty-eight hours is just the right amount of time to get the benefits of an escape from routine, and a park location provides the best possible opportunity to switch off and relax.

"Ready-made attractions are right outside the front door, and all our selected pop-up holiday locations are on parks near fantastic countryside and coastal walks.

"We've pegged the all-in price to less than fifty pounds so that most people won't have to think too hard if the idea of a quick get-away is suddenly just too good to resist!" added Tony.

The 48-hour low-cost breaks are available in Sussex at Frenchmans Beach in Rye and Coghurst Hall in Hastings, and in Suffolk at Felixstowe Beach, and in Essex at Seawick in Clacton.

Details of the parks can be found at ParkHolidays.com.
