Beckham scores as fantasy valentine

Many people would be happy with a red envelope slipping through the letterbox on February 14th, but for motorists taking part in a recent poll, a celebrity chauffeur was at the top of their Valentine’s Day wish list.

When one of the leading car purchase websites, freewaycars.co.uk, asked drivers to reveal their fantasy Valentine date and chauffeur, a resounding 62% claimed they would be bowled over to have Beckham at the wheel, while surprisingly, winner of ITV’s Soap Star Superstar, Antony Cotton, beat Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom to scoop second place.

The blokes were also raring to go with their fantasy females. Male motorists couldn’t get Kylie out of their heads, with more than half of respondents wanting the pint-sized pop star to spin them around.

Cheryl Cole was another hot favourite for a Valentine’s Day drive with one in three keen for the Girls Aloud member to drive their love machine.

Conversely, Jade Goody, unsurprisingly, had less than one in five hearts racing – motorists were concerned that her erratic behaviour and flaring temper, as seen recently in Celebrity Big Brother, would be reflected in her driving style and might not be the most romantic Valentine date!

Commenting on the study, Freeway’s Craig Hutton said: “It’s very intriguing to see which celebrities motorists would like to spend Valentine’s Day with. David Beckman wasn’t surprising, although the survey does highlight that UK drivers have a sense of humour and like to be kept entertained on long journeys. Luckily motorists also realised how important it is to be safe on the road and stick with a driver who can keep their calm!”
