Piping hot water all the time

Householders in the UK are about to be given the chance to change forever the way they heat water in their homes with the introduction of new thermodynamic panels, the most innovative and efficient system ever to come on the market.
The latest breakthrough technology - which could have been designed for the cold, wet UK climate - is being brought to the public by Scottish renewable energy specialist Solar Electricity Systems.
What makes thermodynamic panels so different from existing technologies such as solar panels is that they don't need the sun to shine for them to work. Their unique system - like the refrigerator in a house only in reverse - means that they will heat water efficiently 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, even in the dark, when it's cold and when it's raining.
Glasgow-based Solar Electricity Systems, which has been a pioneer of domestic green energy, has been selected as an official UK distributor for world-leading panel manufacturer Energie. The Portuguese company perfected the new technology in such a way that it has no impact whatsoever on the environment.
Jim Kirkland, Managing Director at Solar Electricity Systems, said: "Consumers are becoming ever more conscious of the consequences that their energy choices have on our fragile environment. We are experiencing a genuine desire among customers to be as green as possible.
"Thermodynamic panels will give householders that choice. The new system is self-contained, unobtrusive and 100% environmentally friendly. It is literally taking free energy out of the air, whenever customers want it."
Thermodynamic panels are causing excitement in the renewables industry because they can meet 100% of domestic needs all the year round. A single panel will fill a 300-litre home cylinder with water at a constant 55 degrees.
The panel does not have to be fitted on to the roof - it can be attached to a side wall, or a garage, or even hidden out of sight in the garden. The gas in the pipework captures heat from the ambient air and passes it into a compressor. This creates further heat which is the transferred into the water cylinder.
Unlike normal panels, thermodynamics do not need any back up for dull days - they provide heat in all climatic conditions even down to -15 degrees. And, unlike conventional solar thermal hot water panels they do not require a back-up hot water heating system.
Jim Kirkland said: "Thermodynamic panels are a truly revolutionary product which will change forever the way people think about heating water in their homes.
"Consumers in Europe have been able to take advantage of this system for a while now and we are extremely pleased to have been chosen by Energie, one of the most respected companies in the renewables sector, to help introduce it to British customers."
An Energie spokesperson, from its Portuguese headquarters, said: "We are a long established family firm with strong customer service values and we are delighted to have been able to complete a distribution agreement with Solar Electricity Systems, which shares our values.
"This deal will allow Solar Electricity Systems to pioneer the future of domestic water heating in the UK and make a revolutionary, super-efficient and 100% green product available to trade customers and consumers alike."
