Top prizes on offer for golfers at La Manga Club this winter
Golfers seeking some competitive action in warmer climes this winter can take advantage of some fantastic packages by heading for the sun to take part in the popular Murcia Golf Open at Spain's La Manga Club.
The 54-hole tournament will be staged at the luxury resort for a 12th time from December 3-8, with competition expected to be as fierce as ever as players chase more than €8,000 worth of prizes.
The individual Stableford competition, held over La Manga Club's North and South courses, offers prizes in three handicap categories for men and two for women, with a selection of luxury golf and leisure breaks and golfing equipment to be won.
Tournament packages include five nights' accommodation, including breakfast and a welcome pack; a cocktail reception; a gala dinner and prize-giving ceremony, and are available from just €687 (£570 approx) per person in the five-star Hotel La Manga Club Principe Felipe, or only €544 (£450 approx) in the fully-serviced four-star Las Lomas apartments - the same cost as last year.
Prices include tournament entry for golfers, along with a green fee for practice day and 230 range balls. Those not competing can instead enjoy four activities of their choice from a selection of spa treatments, tennis court hire, golf or tennis tuition or meals.
What's more, all tournament guests will receive a 10 per cent discount on spa treatments booked before the end of November; complimentary access to Spa La Manga Club's fitness centre, indoor pool, saunas and steam rooms; and free Junior Club sessions for children aged three to 12-years-old, ensuring they will have fun while parents are on the course.
La Manga Club is also hosting the tenth Murcia Seniors' Tennis Open from December 2-8, to run alongside the golf event.
