Five-star winter break to the New Forest

The New Forest is a fabulous winter destination with sunny, dry days, the ground crisp underfoot and plenty of cosy pubs with crackling log fires serving great cuisine to discover.

Cottage Lodge is no ordinary B&B; it is the only 5-star rated boutique B&B in the entire New Forest and has won a string of awards, in particular for its ‘eco’ credentials.

There is currently a special three-night winter offer from just £117 pp (two sharing), which includes a bucks fizz breakfast on one morning, a cream tea, private off-road parking and its famous breakfast made with New Forest Marque and Hampshire produce. There is also a late check-out until 1pm on the last day which means no rushing on the final morning.

Cottage Lodge – which dates back to the 17th century – has 15-bedrooms including an ‘eco room’ which has furniture – including a four-poster bed – built from a fallen forest tree and a bicycle to power the TV.

Throughout the property, owner Christina Simons has endeavoured to be as green as possible; there are solar panels for heating water on the roof, wood burners for the winter, the use of Marmoleum (jute) for bathroom floors, LED lighting, low-energy light bulbs and eco paints used throughout.

The property is located in Brockenhurst, in the heart of the New Forest, ideally situated for visiting many of the region’s attractions including the Palace, Abbey and National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Exbury Gardens and Braemore House.
