A private Greek island yoga paradise

Silver Island

Situated a few miles from the mainland, Silver Island is home to a unique yoga retreat run by sisters Lissa and Claire Christie.

Silver Island is a private island and has been the home of the Christie family for 50 years and now opens its doors and sublime tranquility to those in search of a sense of inner peace and an escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Steeped in ancient history and mythology, Silver Island earns its name from the shimmering leaves of over 2000 olive trees on this large working olive farm of over 60 acres.

Comprised of just a couple of white washed and blue shuttered traditional Greek homes, a church and lighthouse, Silver Island lends itself to a peaceful and rejuvenating experience. This is truly a magical place to practice the art of yoga.

Silver Island Yoga is a small and exclusive retreat accommodating up to 12 guests in 6 beautifully decorated and inviting rooms. During the day the pebbled beaches, hidden coves and miles of pathways offer a chance for guests to spend time alone in quiet reflection between the 2 hour dawn and sunset yoga classes.

Meals are served communally under a large palm tree on the terrace. Lissa lovingly prepares food on the island from the freshest, seasonal vegetarian ingredients either sourced locally or grown on the island.

Silver Island Yoga prides itself on employing environmental best practices wherever possible. With no mains electricity, the facilities use a generator and solar power to harness the suns energy to heat water that is collected and filtered from the winter's rainfall. Organic and biodegradable toiletries are also provided for our guests, as water is recycled for watering the gardens.
