6th September 2007 Print
Nissan X-TRAIL The all-new Nissan X-TRAIL sport utility vehicle is off to a strong start in Japan with about 5,900 units ordered within its first week of introduction. Customers’ response to the X-TRAIL, which went on sale across Japan from 22 August, has outperformed expectations with the current order bank nearly triple of the targeted 2,000 units per month.

The second generation X-TRAIL was first introduced in Europe, two months ahead of Japan. The X-TRAIL offers superior control and stability with Nissan’s latest electronically-controlled four-wheel drive (4WD) system. At the core of X-TRAIL’s appeal to customers is a genuine SUV and the expected mix for the 4WD versions is higher than 90%. The new model features a spacious interior and enhanced utility, and is available in both 2.0L and 2.5L gasoline variants. The newly-introduced 2.5L model represents a 20% mix with the higher series – 20X and 25X – totalling 70% of the mix. The most popular colours are “diamond black” followed by “diamond silver” and “burning red”.
