Durham City’s only 5 star rated accommodation (serviced) has retained it’s quality award following a recent review by national tourist body Visit Britain.

Gadds Town House is a grade II listed 18th century georgian townhouse, nestled in the heart of historical and culturally rich, Durham City on Old Elvet. It has 11 boutique style rooms recently refurbished to a high standard of luxury and elegance, offering guests luxury and comfort.

Formerly known as the Fallen Angel, Gadds Town House also boasts a five star restaurant which serves the best quality and freshest meats, seafoods and produce – all locally sourced whenever possible. It is open daily for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and evening dinner.

Deborah Gadd said: “This has been a good year for Gadds Town House and this is really the icing on the cake. We have put a lot of effort and investment into returning Gadds Town House to it’s former glory as a luxurious Georgian building and it’s great for all of our staff when you receive recognition for this hard work.”

Deborah & husband Nigel have a good track record in the hospitality industry in Durham. Together they have developed thriving and popular businesses at The Derwent Walk Inn, Ebchester, The Pump House & Seven Stars Inn, Shincliffe, The Stables, Wynard. It is their aim for Gadds Town House to always provide its guests with a quality driven experience, in a historic hotel, in an excellent location.

Nigel and Deborah Gadd also own Zen which was recently named Durham City’s Restaurant of the Year in the Durham Retail Awards, where Gadds was also shortlisted, and are part owners in Durham’s newest restaurant, Tango Burger House on Elvet Bridge.
