Two brand new holiday properties will be available for the first time in Polzeath this year following a £2.5 million renovation packed with environmental design features.

The new properties, Darwin and The Penthouse at Tregales, are located above Polzeath Beach and have been cleverly constructed to take maximum advantage of the stunning coastal views and the sound of the sea.

Jill Landeryou, owner of Latitude 50, who offer exclusive breaks in the sought-after area around Rock, Daymer Bay, Polzeath and Port Isaac, said: “These two properties have been developed to the highest specification and have sea views. I think they will really appeal to people with a passion for the great outdoors.

“Their proximity to the beach is a real attraction. Guests can walk down a little path right on to the sand, enjoy spectacular coastal walks over swathes of National Trust land towards The Rumps, and of course take advantage of the great surfing, all on the doorstep.”

Polzeath is a favourite with young people and families who gravitate there for the large sandy beach and outdoor activities on offer.

The new properties benefit from open plan living and a sociable design. Darwin is stylish and contemporary and has five bedrooms, sleeping up to ten people. It also has a private garden, a fully fitted kitchen and ample parking.

The smaller of the two properties, The Penthouse at Tregales is light and airy and has three bedrooms which can sleep up to six people. A large outside balcony runs the length of the building with views of Tristram Cliffs in Polzeath and Pentire Head, ideal for alfresco dining.

The properties are adjacent which gives big parties the option of hiring them together, collectively sleeping up to 16 people.

Jill continues: “The fantastic thing about Tregales and Darwin is that you can do everything from them on foot; whether that’s popping into Polzeath for a bite to eat; going for a swim at Lundy Bay; or even a round of golf. Guests can park the car and properly switch off.”

The new properties have been built to be energy-efficient with an air source heat pump that provides underfloor heating and hot water, which is supplemented by solar thermal panels, reducing their carbon footprint.

Formerly known as DB holidays, Latitude 50 have over 19 years of experience in providing luxury self-catering holidays. The company prides itself on offering a highly personal service and is hoping to grow its offering to match demand.

Darwin can be rented from £895 a week out of season and Tregales from £795. Additional services such as baby equipment, groceries and a private chef can also be provided.
