Food & Drink

Food & Drink returns to BBC Two this February with one of our most highly respected and best loved chefs at the helm. Two Michelin starred culinary legend Michel Roux Jr relaunches this iconic series, sharing some of his favourite recipes and kitchen secrets and inviting us to engage in a debate about what we eat and drink.

Michel is joined by award-winning drinks expert Kate Goodman, who suggests a range of liquid accompaniments to compliment his dishes, from under-appreciated Portuguese reds, to the perfect cup of tea. With the help of each episode’s guest chef, Michel and Kate put together inspirational mouth-watering food and drink combinations and demonstrate how everyone can create the perfectly balanced meal.

As well as sumptuous recipes, delicious drinks and entertaining banter in the kitchen, each episode has a contemporary food debate at its heart. Some of this country’s most highly respected journalists and foodies spark the discussion with polemic films on issues as diverse as the search for alternative sources of protein (mealworm burgers anyone?) and whether our love of the mass-produced loaf has ruined bread for the world. Each episode also features an authored passion piece in celebration of the best of food and drink.

Food & Drink is the series that looks at what, how and why we eat and drink today. It will tap into current trends and key consumer issues; reveal Michel’s and his guests’ personal insight,s such as their guilty pleasures and desert island must haves, and celebrate the best of the country’s cooking talent.

Guest chefs include: Tom Kerridge, Mary Berry, Jun Tunaka, Monica Galetti, Angela Hartnett and Rachel Khoo. Guest contributors include Stefan Gates, Oliver Peyton, William Sitwell, Matthew Fort and Kerstin Rodgers.

Food & Drink is a BBC Two/BBC Lifestyle co-production.
