Barratt plans new Bridgwater development

22nd January 2013 Print

Barratt is set to reinforce its commitment to the Bridgwater housing market with the launch of a new development in the town.

Details of Phoenix are due to be unveiled on Saturday January 26 at Barratt’s nearby King’s Down development off Bath Road.

The development on the former Federal Mogul factory site in Colley Lane will provide 126 new homes for the area.

The mix of homes, which include brand new designs from the country’s leading housebuilder, will offer a selection of homes for both first time buyers and families looking to move up the housing ladder.

“We have enjoyed success in the Bridgwater area for a number of years, and we are thrilled to have been granted planning permission for this new development,” said sales director Caroline Hill.

“Phoenix will offer a wide range of opportunities for young professionals through to families in a thriving new community and we look forward to sharing these plans at the launch event later this month.’’

At Phoenix, Barratt will be providing a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom homes from the housebuilder’s latest range of home designs.

Caroline explained: “The focus is on what customers want from a new home. That means traditional looking exteriors combined with modern, airy interiors; bigger windows to increase natural light and more flexibility in how the available space is utilised.”

Many of the homes feature open-plan floor layouts with the integration of the kitchen and dining areas. The width of the floor-to-ceiling French windows will be doubled to not only maximise natural light but blur the boundary between inside and outside spaces. In the bathrooms there is now a higher specification with larger showers among the main features.
