Atul Kochhar has announced the launch of the Benares Blend Season to take place in the bar at his Michelin starred Mayfair restaurant. Following on from the success of the Benares Chef Season, the new monthly events will feature a different guest mixologist, head bar tender or drink brand ambassador each month, who will work closely with the Benares bar team to create a unique fusion cocktail, blending spices and their signature styles. Priced at £35 per person, guests will have the opportunity to watch and take part in a cocktail masterclass, before sampling the drink with a selection of dishes from the Benares bar platter created by Atul himself.

The season will commence on Wednesday 20th February, at 6.30pm, with whisky brand Chivas and their brand ambassador Phil Duffy who will demonstrate the ‘Darkest Devotion’ cocktail, created by the Benares bar manager Giovanni Spezziga. Priced at £13.50, the cocktail will also be available for the rest of the week for diners to enjoy.

The launch of the Blend Season further showcases the Benares Bar as one of London’s best drinking destinations. Offering a unique cocktail menu featuring unusual ingredients inspired by Atul’s innovative cooking, guests can enjoy a variety of original drinks suitable for any occasion such as the signature Passion Fruit Chutney Martini and the Masala Sour. The Benares Blend Season will run throughout the year with further dates and mixologists soon to be announced.

Since opening in May 2003, Benares has gone from strength to strength. The restaurant celebrates its landmark tenth anniversary this spring. Never complacent with the quality of his work, Atul has been instrumental in redefining the perception of Indian cooking that captures the spiritual and uplifting essence of Northern India.
