Milltek releases Audi RS4 B8 4.2 V8 exhaust system

The development workshops at Milltek must be chock-full of Audis at the moment, with the Derbyshire firm turning out a seemingly endless stream of stunningly effective extraction solutions for Ingolstadt’s finest. The latest high-output Audi to gain a little extra sonic and dynamic prowess is the B8 RS4.

As one of the fastest load-luggers in the business, Milltek’s engineers were keen to maintain the all-round character and usability of the RS4, whilst injecting a little more drama – and power – into proceedings. Two systems will be made available upon launch; a primary cat back, with full EC homologation and approval for those looking to keep things ‘OEM+’ and a wonderfully toned non-resonated system that offers a perfectly pitched rasp and growl, but without the in-cabin resonance and droning of lesser systems.

Through extensive dyno and road testing, the system diameter was optimised at 2.37” / 60.3mm and fabricated from the highest grade austenitic stainless steel to ensure the perfect compromise between maximum gas-flow and ideal back pressure. The system also utilises Milltek’s latest ‘ValveSonic’ technology, featuring active valves that work seamlessly with the OEM vacuum system, even integrating with the Audi Drive Select system to activate the valves at different RPMs and loads based on the selected engine mode. All very clever stuff, but with everything happening automatically, all the driver has to do is sit back and enjoy the sound!

Sensibly, Milltek’s design team saw fit to have the system terminating into the RS4’s existing shapely trims, which are fully integrated into the rear bumper – giving the whole upgrade an ‘option pack’ look and feel. Prices start at £1672.11 + VAT.
