Staff members at one of the region’s top restaurants are taking a step out of their comfort zones to raise money for Comic Relief.

Kitchen staff and waiting staff will be trading places for one night only at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House during a special ‘Mash-Up’ evening on Thursday 14 March where guests will be served a three-course meal.

Front of house staff will be cooking up a storm in the kitchen with a specially designed Red Nose menu, while kitchen staff will be brushing up on their winning smiles to greet and serve customers.

Assistant restaurant manager Jonathan Peek said: “When thinking about Red Nose Day ideas this year, we wanted to do something really unique to entertain guests. This will certainly challenge our staff who each watch what the other team are doing but have never tried their hand at the different roles before.

“To make sure things run smoothly restaurant manager Mimmo Pommo will be staying in the restaurant to oversee the kitchen staff while head chef Neil Wrigley will be remaining in the kitchen to help the budding chefs!

“We’ve created a special three-course menu for the evening with a Red Nose theme and guests will be entertained with a live band as well as the staff themselves!

“20% of all proceeds will go to Comic Relief as well as all tips so we hope to raise a really good amount for the cause.”

On the menu for starters is roasted red pepper soup, red cherry tomato and mozzarella salad or roasted lamb rump and red potato salad.

Guests can choose a main course from roast breast of chicken with red mash and baby red roots, pan fried red mullet, shellfish and chorizo broth or trice baked red lester soufflé with pear and port puree.

Special desserts include ‘Marco’s Red Nose’, red cherry baviouse, nougatine and red berry sorbet or red chocolate cookie torte.

Mimmo continued: “We’re giving the staff extra training now and although they’re all a bit nervous I’m sure everything will be alright on the night!”

A three-course dinner at Marco’s Mash-Up will cost £25 with 20% going to Comic Relief. To reserve a table visit mpwsteakhousebristol.co.uk.
