Milltek and Falcon celebrate 30 years at the top!

In these trying economic times, it’s always heart-warming to hear of any company that survives in its original form for over a decade. Little wonder then that Derbyshire based Milltek – and its sister company Falcon - are looking forward to celebrating their 30th year in business in great style.
2013 marks the 30th anniversary of the company started by Phil Millington in Devon after learning his craft in one of UK’s first dedicated exhaust centres in the 1970s. Making the move from retail to manufacturing proved to suit Phil greatly, and after taking the reins at the new company, which he called Falcon, the team grew from strength to strength, becoming one of the leading names in the Classic Car market.
After conquering export markets and moving to the Midlands to buy a competitor and improve logistics in the ‘80s, Falcon spawned the Milltek sister brand in the ‘90s to fulfil the burgeoining demand at the time for high-quality high performance systems for core tuner cars. As the market seemed to lap up the quality, fit and finish of the UK-manufactured systems, the firm continued to excel, operating profitably in both markets and increasing its staff numbers, property portfolio and dealer network at a steady rate.
Still very much at the helm of both brands, Phil commented ‘We’re delighted to be celebrating this 30th year with the people that have made it possible for us; our wonderful dealers, our brilliant staff, but of course, most importantly, the people that have been good enough to put their hand in their pocket and buy what we have been making for the last three decades. I genuinely believe that we have got here simply by giving people exactly what they want, manufactured to the very best quality, but at a price that the average enthusiast can afford. It’s what we’ve always done, and going forward, I see no reason to change that ethos. It has made us what we are today. I’m also pleased to still be flying the flag for British manufacturing. It’s a huge part of our brand values and the reason that our exhausts fit, last and perform so well.’
The 30th celebrations will last all year and will be an integral part of both brand’s activities throughout 2013. A distinctive ’30 years’ logo has been designed and will appear on everything from packaging and point of sale through to advertising, social media and of course, the website itself.
