Stop Ignoring Snoring

Snoring is a problem most commonly associated with men, but with 30% of British women also thought to suffer from the condition it’s time we broke the silence over lady snorers and gave them a helping hand to deal with the problem, which can cause a lot more harm than just keeping your partner awake. This is the message of a new campaign called ‘Stop Ignoring Snoring’ aimed at liberating women from the stigma surrounding snoring, empowering them with information and facts on the condition and helping women, who may have been too embarrassed to deal with their snoring or perhaps didn’t realise it was a real problem, deal with the issue.

Snoring might seem like a relatively harmless bad ‘habit’, but your partner may very well think otherwise, whether they say so or not, and new research, both scientific and social, is discovering it can be a very real issue. Research has uncovered that those who snore not only suffer from less restorative sleep, but also that certain serious health conditions are more commonly associated with snorers. Furthermore social studies have found that snoring is one of the most common reasons for couples arguing in the bedroom, often resulting in partners sleeping in the ‘other’ room and relationships and sex lives suffering as a result.

But whilst the reasons for trying to beat snoring are large and real it is often ignored by women, often too embarrassed to talk about the problem in public. The new campaign however hopes to make it easy and accessible for women to learn about snoring, its causes and what can be done to help.

The campaign is based around an online site, where there is an expert on hand to anonymously answer your snoring questions, sleep related FAQs and downloadable fact sheets, discounts on various snoring remedies and a forum where you can talk to other ‘lady snorers’.
