21st September 2005 Print
Proton Cars (UK) Ltd will visit St Enoch’s Square Glasgow as part of its Cars to the People tour, from 21-24 September 2005. Visitors to the shopping centre will have the chance to see the new 5-door city car, the Savvy, up close and personal.

Proton’s new Cars to the People 30ft exhibition unit is on a nationwide tour – a UK first for the Malaysian car manufacturer. The unit will display the brand new Savvy and the GEN-2, the first model of a new generation of Lotus inspired cars from Proton. A Lotus Elise sports car and an MV Agusta motorbike will also be on show at the event.

Proton is quite literally taking its ‘Cars to the People’ and is giving visitors a chance to step inside, pop open the bonnet and boot and have a good look around.

Visitors to the event can enter the free prize draw to win a brand new GEN-2
1.6 GSX with metallic paint (worth over £11,000) by simply registering their details on the Proton stand. The GEN-2 1.6 GSX has four airbags, remote central locking and engine immobiliser, ABS, climate control, leather seats, alloy wheels, a Blaupunkt radio/ CD player with a 10-CD changer and much more.

The Proton stand will also be stacked with free giveaway goodies for children and the young at heart.

Visitors will be able to visit the Proton stand from 21-24 September, 2005 between 9am and 6pm.

For those unable to come to the event, the full Proton range can be viewed and driven at one of Proton’s local dealers;
