A new look for the Proton Impian

17th November 2006 Print
Proton Impian Proton’s 4-door Impian saloon has been refreshed and updated this winter having new styling both inside and out, whilst retaining many of the standard features which make it such exceptional value for money.

Fresh exterior design

The Impian has a re-designed front grille and back end and a new, innovative rear light cluster. The stylish look is completed with new alloy wheels. Customers can choose between a selection of colours – a solid Impian Red and metallic shades including brand new Carbon Black, Aurum and Sterling Silver.

New interior styling

A brand new interior, designed to complement the exterior, gives the Impian an added luxurious feel. Updates include a new dashboard fascia with wood trim and contemporary chrome dials on GSX models, which also have full leather seats, headrests and door trim inserts, plus a brand new wood grain and leather steering wheel. Impian GLS models have a new design fabric interior plus a new dashboard and instrument panel. Generously proportioned both inside and outside, the Impian can easily accommodate five adults comfortably with ample leg and head room, and plenty of room for luggage in the 410 litre boot space, which can be extended if necessary by folding down the rear seats.

Interior features

For extra comfort, every Impian has air conditioning with pollen filter, electrically adjustable mirrors, reverse distance sensors, electric front and rear windows and Clarion radio/ CD player. For added convenience, there is a coin holder, assist grips, coat hooks and front cup holders – GSX variants also have rear cup holders.

Engine power and performance

The model is equipped with a 1.6 litre Campro engine which is available in a choice of manual or automatic transmissions, both providing good fuel economy around town and ample power for longer journeys. It also has Lotus-developed ride and handling which gives pinpoint handling and a smooth drive – this in turn minimises cabin noise and vibration.

A safe and secure ride

Customers can expect a range of standard safety and security features on every Impian, including anti-lock brakes with EBD, side impact protection, energy absorbing bumpers and front fog lamps. Inside the Impian, fingertip controls for the radio/ CD player on the steering wheel provide added safety for the driver, whilst there are also twin front airbags, seatbelts with pre-tensioners and rear door childlocks. Each Impian is equipped with remote operated central locking and an alarm and engine immobiliser. For further peace of mind each model is backed up by Proton’s Peace of Mind Warranty Package which includes 3 years/ 60,000 miles total vehicle warranty and three years’ free RAC cover.
