Mike Williams – for 30 years the driving force behind the hugely respected Beaufort Restorations – has gathered his expert team of craftsmen around him once more, following what he describes as ‘something of a gap year’ and with a new business partner, has launched Mike Williams Restorations.

The Mike Williams Restorations team has over 100 years’ experience in restoring vintage and collectable cars and preparing historic race cars for competition. The new company – based in workshops in the Kent countryside – is now inviting owners of cars in need of restoration, or of race cars in need of preparation, to contact them.

“This is a new start and I am immensely pleased and excited not just to be bringing the ‘old team’ back together, but also to be moving forward with a revised management line-up,” said Mike Williams.

“The blend of different and comprehensive skills and specialist services we offer all under one roof is quite remarkable, and we are happy to tackle a project in stages or in its entirely, depending on what suits the owner’s budget and timescale. The ‘gap year’ is over, and we are all eager to get to work and start returning some very special motor cars to their former glory. So it’s the perfect time for an owner considering a restoration to get in touch with us!”

Mike Williams Restorations is a true ‘one-stop-shop’ for these highly specialised services. Every aspect of a car’s restoration can be managed in-house, from chassis renovation or new chassis fabrication, suspension set up, engine rebuilding, reconditioning and blueprinting and gearbox to re-trimming, panel beating, spraying and re-wiring. Hugely experienced specialists carry out all work to the very highest standards, using the finest materials. And, where a component is beyond restoration, the company’s craftsmen can simply build a replacement.

The team’s knowledge is not confined to one marque; they have restored a huge and diverse range of vehicles, including Lagondas, Invictas, XK and SS Jaguars, an 1898 Locomobile, an HWM sports racing car and various single-seater HGPCA cars.  And they have prepared competition cars that have raced in VSCC, HGPCA, BRDC, Masters, Legends and XK Challenge events as well as the classics; Alpine Rally, Mille Miglia, Goodwood, Le Mans and Monaco.
