Dorchester Collection exudes timeless elegance with each of its properties, enjoying glamorous rooms and penthouse suites with spectacular panoramic views. In keeping with each hotel's unique style whilst staying true to the individuality of each of their cities, the penthouse and presidential suites offer guests an incomparable experience within a comfortable and private setting. This spring, Dorchester Collection presents a few of its favourite penthouses and presidential suites; where classic luxury and elegance meet modernity and the latest technology.

The Dorchester

The Harlequin Suite is the largest of the three roof suites, which also include The Audley and Terrace Suites. Discretely reminiscent of the Hollywood glamour long associated with the hotel and refurbished by renowned designer Alexandra Champalimaud, the design of these suites emulates the style in which The Dorchester was originally built in the 1930's whilst remaining modern and luxurious. The Harlequin Suite is made up of a master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, a dressing room, a dining room, a living room, a bar, and a large outside terrace overlooking Hyde Park.

The Harlequin Suite is available as a two-bedroom suite with the second bedroom still retaining the original pink marble bathroom that was installed especially for Elizabeth Taylor. It was in this suite that Taylor received the news of her record-breaking, multi-million pound deal to star in Cleopatra and since then The Harlequin Suite has been associated with the actress. The dining room seats eight guests and the walls are lined with silver wallpaper, which reflects the light from the bespoke crystal chandelier by Metalarté echoing Taylor's renowned diamond collection.

Rates for The Harlequin Suite start at £7,455 per night, including a second connecting bedroom (All prices are exclusive of VAT).

The Beverly Hills Hotel

Inspired by the hotel's original bungalows, the two Presidential Bungalows at The Beverly Hills Hotel encompass all that ultra luxury has to offer for guests to enjoy maximum comfort.  Carefully nestled within 12 acres of banana leaves, palm trees and landscaped gardens, the Presidential Bungalows are the largest suites in Los Angeles with more than 511 square metres of living space. The Presidential Bungalows resemble individual homes set in the most prestigious neighbourhood of Beverly Hills.

Secluded within the grounds of The Beverly Hills Hotel, each Presidential Bungalow is a home away from home in classic pink stucco with its own private entrance; a Great Room with a dining room, a chic living room; a powder room; a professional kitchen; custom-designed furnishings and beautifully collected pieces from the 1920s to modern day; three bedrooms with luxurious baths featuring free-standing baths, steam showers and vanities; and, in the timeless Hollywood tradition, a limestone fireplace in every room. Beautiful gardens surround each bungalow with outdoor spaces including a private pool, a fireplace, a dining area, entertainment systems, exercise areas, courtyards, and the only private outdoor showers in Los Angeles.

Rates start at £9,884 per night.

Le Meurice

Located on the seventh floor and overlooking the whole of Paris, the Belle Etoile Suite is one of a kind with a 250 square metre private terrace offering a 360° panoramic view of the city, including Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Sacré Coeur.

The 275 square metre suite is reminiscent of the nineteenth century style and encompasses private lift access; a sitting room; a dining room; a walk-in wardrobe and a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom in Italian marble. There is also a pantry and a kitchen for a butler and personal chef. The bedroom leads into a magnificent 25 square metre walk-in closet and an ensuite bathroom which looks onto Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur on one side and the Musée d'Orsay and the golden dome of the Invalides on the other. The suite's architecture recalls Parisian landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Petit Palais, a characteristic style of the late nineteenth century in which metal and glass combine with the green patina of zinc roofs.

Hôtel Plaza Athénée

Situated on the eighth floor of the glamorous Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris, the Eiffel Penthouse offers an incomparable view of the Eiffel Tower.

With an area of 131 square metres and two entrances, the Eiffel Penthouse enjoys a 180° view over the Paris skyline. Designed in an Art Déco style, the penthouse is characterised by specially crafted furniture in rosewood, macassar ebony and mahogany. All rooms are equipped with large picture windows overlooking the Eiffel Tower. With the latest in the art of glass technology, the opaque bathroom window can become instantly transparent at the flick of a switch, allowing guests to enjoy the view of the sparkling Eiffel Tower from the bathtub whilst being invisible to the outside world. The Penthouse also has a private lift, which transports the guests to their own roof terrace, stretching 28 square metres and offering a 360° view over Paris.

Hotel Principe di Savoia

The world renowned Milanese Hotel Principe di Savoia has taken luxury to the next level with its elegant Presidential Suite. Its guests include some of the most renowned international names, from Royals such as Queen Elizabeth II, to film stars like George Clooney and Woody Allen.

Following Michael Stelea's initial redesign of the suite in 1992, synergy has been achieved between the classically designed rooms and the latest technology. Spanning over 500 square metres, The Presidential Suite is located on the tenth floor and is accessible by a private lift.

The gem of this prestigious suite is the Presidential Bedroom, which includes a jacuzzi, as well as a high-definition plasma "all in one" with numerous innovative functions such as IP television, PC, media centre, home theatre and Ipod. The suite also has a 100 square metre Pompeian style private spa where guests can unwind in the in-suite pool surrounded by frescoed walls and vaulted ceilings. This opulent spa incorporates a whirlpool, sauna and Turkish bath.

Rates for The Presidential Suite at Hotel Principe di Savoia start from €13,000.

Hotel Bel-Air

When Hotel Bel-Air closed for refurbishment, Alexandra Champalimaud was commissioned to redesign the rooms and suites, and great care was taken to keep much of the hotel's originality.  The familiar Spanish Colonial architecture splashed in 'Bel-Air Pink' is still present while a new generation of Hotel Bel-Air aesthetic is reflected through design themes from the glamorous decades of the 1930s, 40s and 50s, all conveyed in a fresh and elegant manner.

The Presidential Suite evokes twentieth century glamour and offers guests comfort and luxury as if in their own private home. The suite encompasses a spacious room at the entrance with vaulted ceilings, a kitchen with staff entrance, a dining room which seats ten guests, and a stunning wood burning fireplace. Both bedroom and master bedroom have access to the 419.5 square metre private courtyard which includes dining areas and a swimming pool. There is also an additional terrace which overlooks the Californian gardens.

Rates start at £9,884 per night.

Coworth Park

The Dower House at Dorchester Collection's countryside hotel Coworth Park is the hotel's signature suite, which has been transformed into a private cottage. Built in 1775 and decorated by Fox Linton Associates, the cottage is complete with three bedrooms, a private kitchen, a dining room and a living room. It also has its own garden with a stream running through it. The Dower House offers views over Coworth Park's Polo fields and the English countryside giving guests the optimum of privacy, luxury and tranquillity.
