Taylor Wimpey makes an educated choice in Cowbridge

Taylor Wimpey South Wales has taken inspiration from the local area to decide on the names for its house types at its new development in Cowbridge.

Scholars View, which successfully launched last November, took its name from its location on the site of the Cowbrdige’s former Lower School and now the leading house builder chose to honour the school’s distinguished former academics by naming their house types after them.

The house types include; Idwal House, named after Sir Idwal Pugh who attended the school before going onto become Permanent Secretary at the Welsh Office, Treharne House, in homage to Edward Treharne, a medical student and member of the first Wales international Rugby Union team in 1881, and Durrell House, in respect of David Durrel a notable Old Testament scholar and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford University.

We believe this is a fitting tribute to the achievements of these former Lower School pupils and to the site on which Scholars View is located.”
