Aspiring homebuyers are invited to a special Bank Holiday weekend event, from 26 to 28 May, at award-winning west Cardiff homes development The Mill, Canton.

Developer Lovell Homes is giving first-time buyers the chance to find out more about purchasing a new home at The Mill, which recently celebrated scooping the Best First Time Buyer Family Home title at the national First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards.

An independent financial advisor will be available in the marketing suite on Sunday, 27 May, offering free expert advice on buying a new Lovell home, including information on mortgages and Help to Buy – Wales.

Throughout the weekend, visitors can also consult the experienced Lovell team about the Help to Buy – Wales scheme, which allows buyers to secure a new home with an upfront deposit of just five per cent. Recent releases at The Mill include new apartments at Hawthorn House, which start from £138,000 for a one-bedroom property with two-beds from £172,000. Over 30 per cent of these appealing new homes have already been reserved!

“With Help to Buy – Wales available, homes at this premium location, only two miles from the city centre, are surprisingly affordable,” says Lovell regional sales director Julie Bowen. “We would encourage anyone looking to take their first step onto the property ladder to come and find out more about making home ownership a reality. Visitors can also explore our stunning two-bed show apartment for a close-up look at the build quality and finishing of these stylish homes.”

Apartment living at The Mill offers attractive options for a wide range of buyers, from single people and couples to young families, with versatile open-plan living / dining / kitchen spaces taking centre stage.

All apartments at Hawthorn House benefit from a Symphony fitted kitchen with soft closers to cupboards and drawers, appliances include integrated fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washer-dryer as well as a Bosch brushed steel oven and gas hob. Among the many other advantages are a ten-year NHBC Warranty; two-year emergency cover and Ideal boiler central heating.

Find out more at themill-canton.co.uk. The show homes and marketing suite are open seven days a week, from 10am to 5pm at The Mill, Canton, Cardiff CF11 8DH.

The Mill, Canton, is bringing a new urban village to Cardiff, creating 800 contemporary homes at the former Arjo Wiggins paper mill site. They include 358 homes for open market sale by Lovell and 442 homes for rent – which will be managed by Cadwyn Housing Association – for the Tirion Group. The scheme is going ahead with the support of the Welsh Government and financial backing from the Principality Building Society, and is being developed by the Tirion Group in partnership with Lovell.
