As New Homes Week – 14 to 18 May – highlights the advantages of buying a brand-new property, there’s no better time to visit award-winning west Cardiff homes development The Mill.

Following strong take-up for the development’s first release of apartments, a new selection of homes have just become available. They include one-bedroom apartments starting from £138,000 and two-beds from £180,000.

“With a number of our apartments priced below the threshold for Land Transaction Tax and all available through Help to Buy – Wales*, this is a great time to visit The Mill and discover the appeal of a brand-new home,” says Lovell regional sales director Julie Bowen.

“Buying new is a great way to go to avoid the maintenance costs and building work which often comes with buying a second-hand property. It also means you get to enjoy having a home which is truly your own from day one - a blank canvas ready for you to transform - avoiding the need to compromise and live with someone else’s taste and design choices.” Homes continue to be snapped up quickly at The Mill, with the development’s recent success at the national First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards – where it scooped the Best First Time Buyer Family Home title – adding to the brand-new community’s growing prestige.

The Mill’s super-chic two-bedroom show apartment certainly gives prospective purchasers an instant appreciation of the style and quality on offer. Stand-out features include the open-plan living / dining / kitchen area – lit by a multi-light pendant – which is an ideal setting for socialising, entertaining and relaxing and has views over the development’s tree-lined river walk.

All apartments at Hawthorn House benefit from stylish fitted kitchens including integrated fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washer-dryer as well as a Bosch brushed steel oven and gas hob. Among the many other advantages are a ten-year NHBC Warranty; two-year emergency cover and Ideal boiler central heating.

Find out more at themill-canton.co.uk. The show homes and marketing suite are open seven days a week, from 10am to 5pm at The Mill, Canton, Cardiff CF11 8DH.

The Mill, Canton, is bringing a new urban village to Cardiff, creating 800 contemporary homes at the former Arjo Wiggins paper mill site. They include 358 homes for open market sale by Lovell and 442 homes for rent – which will be managed by Cadwyn Housing Association – for the Tirion Group. The scheme is going ahead with the support of the Welsh Government and financial backing from the Principality Building Society, and is being developed by the Tirion Group in partnership with Lovell.
