Child experts advise swapping the X-box for activity this May Half Term

Getting active is good for kids

Research by child experts reported in today’s press, claims that children that spend more time engaging in outdoor activity, as opposed to staring at computer, TV and phone screens all day, develop better motor skills, are better socialised, less stressed and become better problem solvers.

The Families Worldwide team believes that the best antidote to the screen addiction ‘pandemic’ is to get actively engaged in the real world on holiday (and that means parents doing things with their children – as opposed to dumping them in a kids’ club)...

Here are just four examples of availability for this Whitsun Half Term holiday at the end of May, when the weather is warm and the prices are lower than summer…

Adventure in Gozo: 8 days from £829

Families Worldwide has the perfect new trip for families with super active children, the 8-day Active Gozo, the smaller, sister island to Malta in the warm Mediterranean Sea south of Sicily. Highlights of the trip include exploring the coastal paths by bike, climbing up and abseiling down the rocks, discovering hidden caves by kayak, a boat cruise and playing Bocci with the locals! The holiday departs on 25 May and costs from £829 per child (8+) and £849 per adult. This includes 7-nights’ B&B (plus two lunches), all land transportation, activities as detailed on the itinerary and the services of a tour leader.
