Award-winning housebuilder Redrow is back again building a new five-acre development in Chard, Somerset called ‘Mitchell Park’. The new site will be home to 40 private properties, consisting of three and four bedroom homes as well as 21 affordable properties. Redrow are glad to be back in the area following the success of Mitchell Gardens, Chard.

From Saturday 30th March homebuyers will be able to find out more about this development, as the Marketing Suite will be located at 15 The High Street, Chard, only 200 yards from the development. Mitchell Park is located within easy reach of a wide range of excellent amenities including shops and schools.

The Marketing Suite will move to Mitchell Park in June when the first show homes will be open, however, Redrow encourages house hunters to come along to 15 The High Street to find out more about the development and the advantages of purchasing off plan.

Emma Solman, area sales manager for Redrow (South West), said: “Buying off plan has proved incredibly popular at our developments across the South West. Many homebuyers have opted to buy off plan as it has a great number of benefits; including being able to pick the finishing touches and personalising your new dream home, with choice of kitchen fittings, positioning/style of sockets and switches, wall tiles in the bathroom, door handles and wardrobes. In addition it allows homebuyers to opt for extras including bathroom upgrades, floor tiles, carpets, electric garage doors and much more.”

All the houses available at Mitchell Park are from the New Heritage Collection, delivering 21st Century living with a design that captures the essence of a traditional British home. The New Heritage collection was designed by Redrow following an overwhelming demand from customers looking for the traditional homes they’ve often grown up in, but with contemporary interiors and built-in efficiency.

There are a number of properties available at Mitchell Park including the Cambridge and Letchworth housetypes. The Cambridge has an open plan kitchen/dining/family area as well as the sanctuary of a separate, sophisticated lounge, offering a superb balance between family life and personal space. With cloak and utility rooms downstairs and an en suite to the master bedroom, this is a property of quality and character built with pride to offer a solid foundation for family life.

The Letchworth is a particular gem, it may look like a 1930’s semi, but inside it has all the modern touches such as open-plan living, an en suite bathroom and a curved staircase. Shaped to suit modern living, this property showcases all the benefits and beauty of the New Heritage Collection.

Emma Solman continues: “Thanks to its excellent commuter links to Yeovil, Taunton, Exeter and Bristol, Chard is a great place to live. It is in the catchment area of many highly regarded, private and comprehensive schools, making it desirable to professionals and young families alike. It’s bound to prove popular, so register your interest today!”

From April 1, homebuyers in Somerset will be able to purchase a brand new Redrow home at Mitchell Park with just a 5% deposit and enjoy lower monthly mortgage repayments. It enables those who have saved at least a 5% deposit to take out an equity loan from the Government for up to 20% of the purchase price. This means they only need a 75% mortgage from their chosen lender and should be able to access much more competitive interest rates, which would make their mortgage repayments more affordable.

‘Help to Buy’ equity loans are available on homes up to £600,000. The loan can be repaid at any time or when the purchaser comes to sell their home. The scheme is available from April 1, 2013 and will run for three years.
