Quidco shakes up cashback market and extends lead position

17th April 2013 Print

Quidco, the UK cashback site, has upped the ante in its sector by announcing fundamental changes and enhancements to its service offering.

Savvy shoppers will be offered a tiered product for the first time ever. Building on Quidco's existing service, those wanting to take advantage of additional enhancements will be able to do so by becoming a ‘Premium' user.

With no upfront fee associated, Quidco will retain the first £5 of earnings made by a Premium user. This will grant access to 1,000 faster paying merchants, returning cashback significantly quicker than any other competitor. In addition to this, personal access will be offered to Quidco's award winning customer care team that will be running a call back service and live chat function; seven days a week and during extended opening hours. These additions cannot be found anywhere else in the cashback sector and teams have been increased in readiness for launch.

Premium users will also be in receipt of personalised deals and loyalty bonuses throughout the year.

Those that choose the Basic tier will still be able to take advantage of Quidco's existing service, offering cashback deals from over 3,500 merchants. They will also be able to access moneysaving tools from the site, such as its mobile app and in store cashback programme on an entirely free basis for the first time ever.

Andy Oldham, Managing Director at Quidco said: "Offering Quidco's service on a tiered basis has been in planning for months and is as a result of listening to what our members want. The changes we are making today shakes up the sector in which we operate and further extends our lead.

"The additions we are making to our customer service team for the Premium user cannot be matched by others and we have upped staffing levels, demonstrating our commitment to servicing our members. Basic members will not miss out though. Their queries will be turned around within 24 working hours and will allow access to 3,500 retailers, saving the average family £780 per year when shopping via Quidco."

News of this comes as the UK's number one cashback site celebrates its eighth birthday, having recently recruited its 3 millionth member - further extending its market leading position as number one in the UK.
