According to the Office for National Statistics, 5.4% of people said that they worked mainly at or from home in the 2011 Census . This means 1.4 million people need extra space in their home to accommodate their working life.

At Bloor Homes’ development at Eden Park in Rugby, the Tealy and Welton housetypes offer the perfect, flexible accommodation. These four bedroom detached homes are arranged over three floors, enabling home workers to separate their home and working life and shut the door on the office at the end of the day.

The Tealy home offers spacious living accommodation on the ground floor with a large lounge, kitchen/diner, utility and cloakroom. The second floor boasts a master suite with generous sized bedroom, dressing area with wardrobes and en-suite facilities. The first floor offers flexibility, with three bedrooms, one of which can be easily adapted into an office, whilst retaining a guest room with en-suite shower room. A double garage provides useful additional storage.

The Welton housetype is designed slightly differently but again with an adaptable layout. There is generous living accommodation on the ground floor with lounge, kitchen/diner, utility and cloakroom. Bedroom one, with en-suite and wardrobes is on the first floor, along with another double bedroom and bathroom. The second floor has two further double bedrooms and a shower room, offering the potential for an office and guest room.

Vanessa Macnee, Sales Director of Bloor Homes comments: “These spacious homes really do meet people’s need for extra space. With the accommodation spread across three floors, you can separate your living and relaxing space from your office, which means you don’t feel like you are on duty 24 hours a day. An added bonus is that the properties are available through the new Help To Buy scheme, reducing the deposit purchasers need to find.”

Located just north of Rugby town centre, Eden Park is a collection of two, three, four and five bedroom homes designed in a range of styles and finished to the excellent specification for which Bloor is renowned.

Whilst the homes are perfect for home workers, the development is also conveniently situated for commuters, with regular train services from Rugby to London taking about 50 minutes, as well as direct routes to Northampton, Leicester and Coventry. Sheltered cycle storage and car parking are available at the station. The development is within easy reach of the M6 and M1 motorways.

Rugby town centre is the ideal place for a relaxed shopping expedition, with its variety of stores, independent retailers, cafés and bars. For sporting enthusiasts, LA fitness, the Ken Marriott Leisure Centre and the Rugby School Sports Centre are all close by, providing a wealth of opportunities to stay active.

Another benefit of working from home is having more time to enjoy the surrounding countryside and the outdoor pursuits available nearby, such as Draycote Water Country Park, Coombe Park and Brandon Marsh Nature Centre all within six miles of the development.

The Tealy is priced from £246,500 (£197,200 Help To Buy) and the Welton from £250,000 (£200,000 Help To Buy). The Help to Buy scheme offers an equity loan of up to 20% of the property price and reduces the amount buyers need to find by way of deposit.

All Bloor homes up to a purchase price of £600,000 are available through the Help to Buy scheme, which requires a minimum 4% deposit. Buyers need to arrange a loan of up to 76% of the purchase price and the Government lends the balance of between 10% and 20% of the value of the property via an equity loan, which can repaid at any time or on the sale of the property.
