Soft Trekking in Oman
Corinthian Travel, the specialist luxury operator to the Middle East and North Africa, has a new trip entitled Soft Trekking in Oman.
This unique itinerary provides a chance to discover the secrets of this fascinating country and covers the main features of Oman: desert, fort, souq and mountains, with an emphasis on discovering nature and enjoying the stunning Omani mountain scenery with easy, guided walks.
Oman’s Hajar Mountains peak at over 3000 metres, resulting in some of the most dramatic panoramas to be found anywhere in the entire Arabian Peninsula. The region is distinctly cooler that the rest of the country, providing a chance to enjoy treks during the winter months.
The mountain of Jebel Akhdar is just two hours away from bustling Muscat and the contrast couldn’t be more dramatic; it is a veritable Garden of Eden featuring ‘hidden’ pockets of green, picturesque villages clinging to cliff tops, richly terraced fields with pomegranates and orchards, and bubbling springs.
Highlights of this comprehensive itinerary will include a private city tour of the capital Muscat, three easy going and scenic treks in Jebel Shams and Jebel Akhdar, off-road driving in Wadi Tiwi, Wadi Bani Awf and a visit to Wadi Nakhr (known locally as the Grand Canyon of Oman).
There will also be a chance to swim in the spring-fed waters of Wadi Bani Khalid canyon and to spend a night in a comfortable desert camp in the Wahiba Sands.
The holiday costs from £1995 pp (two sharing) which includes nine nights’ accommodation (including the desert camp), most meals, sightseeing as per itinerary with entrance fees, chauffeur driven transfers with English speaking driver/guide and guided hikes.
Fully protected for its clients’ financial security, Corinthian Travel can book international flights on request.
