Marine Hotel

The Marine Hotel in the pretty seaside resort of Ballycastle - perched on the north-eastern most point of Co. Antrim in Northern Ireland - opened its door for business again on 14 June having stood empty for three years.

This hotel of 31 bedrooms – 24 of which have sea views - enjoys a prime seafront position and is just yards from a superb beach and overlooks the picturesque marina and Rathlin Island.  It offers a wide choice of accommodation; twins and doubles for couples plus, for families, four large family rooms (sleeping up to five) and six interconnecting sets of rooms.

Introductory offers include free night deals which means, for example, a three-night weekend break (Sunday night) free in August now costs £99 per person (twin share) on a bed and breakfast basis.   The same break, but including a Liverpool/Belfast ferry crossing for car and passengers, costs from £175 per person.   Flight inclusive packages – with departures from a choice of regional airports – can also be arranged.

Children under 12 years of age stay free-of-charge on a bed and breakfast basis when sharing a family room with two adults, while youngsters over 12 years are charged at £20 per night.

Guests are assured of a warm welcome and friendly Irish hospitality, ‘great craic’ and traditional food – including local specialities such as Champ and Dulse - are to be found in Marconi’s Bar & Bistro.   There’s also fine dining in the restaurant.

Ballycastle, situated in the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, is full of character and history and home to pastel painted cottages, interesting little shops – no chain stores here – bars and restaurants.  The Marine is the only hotel in the town.

The beach, backed by Ballycastle Golf Course, is long and sandy, and is excellent for sandcastle building, swimming and surfing.  The town also has its own dive school and it is the starting point for breathtaking coastal walks.  The local area is also renowned for its sailing, watersports and fishing opportunities.

Local attractions include the iconic Giant’s Causeway (10 miles), the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (seven miles), the Bushmills Distillery (16 miles) and Rathin Island, a tiny island reached by ferry from Ballycastle and home to an RSPB Seabird Centre and a colony of seals.
