Wizz Air’s low fares land in Russia

Wizz Air has announced a new route from Budapest to Moscow Vnukovo which will commence on 23 September. The new service will initially operate five times a week.

Wizz Air’s “Go East” expansion has already brought new routes from Budapest to Ukraine, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Egypt over the past year.This long awaited low-fare link between Hungary and Russia follows suit. Wizz Air’s low airfares on the Budapest-Moscow route create the potential for stimulating trade, business and tourism between the two countries.Vnukovo International Airport is one of the major Moscow airports with quick and easy access to Moscow city.

Tickets for the Budapest-Moscow flights are already on sale and can be booked immediately on wizzair.com with fares starting from as low as HUF 14,990 (one way, taxes included).

József Váradi, Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air, said: "The opening of the Budapest-Moscow route is a landmark event for Wizz Air’s "Go East" expansion as it will make the airline’s debut in Russia. Wizz Air’s current network consists of 37 routes from Budapest representing over 2.4 million seats in 2013.
