The Mini Classic, greatest British car of all time?

According to a poll carried out by Autocar, the Mini-ahead of Range Rover, McLaren and Jaguar - has been voted the greatest British car of all time.
In 2015 more than two million Minis are expected to be built, the production record so far stands at 1.92 million cars made in 1972, so we’re seeing an increasing demand! It may be surprising to know that despite it being hugely popular here in the UK, more than 80% of the Minis produced in Britain were exported abroad.

However, it wasn’t in fact until celebrities began using the little Mini that it began to catch the public eye. It was the role the Mini played in much famous The Italian Job (1969) that certified its place in popular British culture.
