Help to Buy a family home in Stourport
Children could each have their own bedroom in a brand new home full of family-friendly features thanks to Help to Buy.
With the rising cost of raising a child, the Government-backed scheme offers parents an affordable solution that allows them to move into a new and larger home to accommodate their growing brood and could bring an end to siblings having to share a bedroom.
Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), explains: “Research suggests that the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 is now more than £51,000 and that’s not including the cost of putting a roof over their head! The good news for parents is that with Help to Buy our new homes at Hamlet Place are now easier to afford.”
Available on all new Redrow homes at Hamlet Place in Stourport, Help to Buy cuts the initial cost of homeownership with the aid of an equity loan.
Help to Buy customers should be able to look forward to mortgage repayments that are easier to afford, even if they don’t have a hefty lump sum to put down as a deposit or if they lack substantial equity in the property they are moving from.
Pauline adds: “The equity loan could be the boost they need to make a move to a home more suited to their family’s needs. It could give siblings who share a bedroom the space they crave or simply minimise the morning rush for the family bathroom thanks to the inclusion of an en-suite to the master bedroom and a ground floor cloakroom.”
Help to Buy can be used by existing homeowners, those returning to homeownership and first time buyers.
At Hamlet Place, in Bewdley Road, it’s currently available on a choice of four-bedroom homes, priced from £219,995. Buyers could see the initial cost of one of these sought-after New Heritage Collection homes reduced to only £175,996 with Help to Buy.
The Help to Buy price is made up of a 5% deposit from the customer and a mortgage for 75% of the property’s full value.
The remaining 20% share is covered by the equity loan, which is interest free for five years and can be repaid when the customer has more funds available or when they resell.
Externally, the homes look very traditional, taking inspiration from the architecture of the Arts & Crafts movement. Inside, however, they are bright, modern and full of family-friendly features.
“We appreciate that homebuyers don’t want to spend time or money on the repairs or renovations that come with buying an older property.
