BMW extends presence on eBay into aftersales market
Marking two years of partnership with eBay, BMW is now driving change in the aftersales market with the launch of a Value Service page.
The new page promotes the fixed priced servicing programme for selected BMW models, making it even easier for customers to find good value and excellent service with BMW Dealers.
Since going live the Value Service page - which shows servicing prices for selected 3 Series, 5 Series and X5 models, starting from £139 for an E46 Engine Oil Service - has received thousands of visits and helped to drive footfall into BMW dealerships.
Two years ago BMW became the first car manufacturer to partner with eBay and open a Direct Store on the platform, selling new and fixed price goods direct to customers. Through BMW's Direct Store, which attracts on average 45,000 unique visitors each month, you can buy and browse more 6,000 Genuine BMW items, including the Black BMW M Performance Kidney Grilles as seen on the 2013 eBay Motors Team BTCC cars.
Andy Wilde, Aftersales E-Commerce Manager at BMW Group UK, said: "Two years ago we embarked on an exciting journey with eBay to offer our customers an online experience which enabled them to easily browse and shop for BMW products. The eBay environment provides perfect access to a customer base which can tend to be disengaged with our Dealer Network. By working closely with eBay, we have been able to optimise dialogue with this audience and offer relevant products, conveniently delivered to their door. The addition of a Value Service page provides an ideal opportunity to educate BMW owners within the eBay environment about this great offering."
Justin Lovric, Senior Strategic Advertising Sales Manager, Automotive, eBay UK, commented: "Consumer shopping behaviour continues to dramatically change, with the lines between on and offline becoming increasing blurred. The automotive sector is no exception and with an average of 4 million monthly searches for BMW and 19 million unique users visiting eBay in the UK and Ireland every month, online clearly offers car brands a huge opportunity to reach and engage with consumers during the shopper journey."
BMW's partnership with eBay doesn't end online, as the eBay Motors BMW 125i M Sport BTCC touring car continues to contest the 2013 BTCC Series. The car built by West Surrey Racing is supported by BMW Aftersales with parts supplied throughout the season, many of which are available to buy through the official BMW eBay store.
