Bespoke Hotels on the green

22nd August 2013 Print

Whether you’re a sprightly young twenty-something surrounded by friends on a chaps’ weekend, or a more measured quinquagenarian enjoying a corporate day out, pristine greens and well-tended fairways are a must for a successful day’s golf. Across the Bespoke Hotels portfolio in every corner of the UK, you’ll find exactly that in the shape of championship courses from Carnoustie to Cleethorpes.

Beginning in Eastern Scotland, visitors can expect a challenging 18 holes when they stay at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel & Spa, as is only befitting of a world famous course that hosted the 1999 Open Championship host and has long been recognised as one of the top three in the country. The iconic hotel overlooks the 18th green and offers all the luxuries a victorious champion could ask for. With a fully stocked bar, 75 luxury rooms, as well as an AA Rosette certified restaurant, it’s the perfect place to wind down after a day on the links (packages start at £155 p/p).

Moving westward, The Gleddoch House Hotel features a 6,350 yard course majestically set on the banks of the River Clyde. 70 en-suite bedrooms offer views of the course as well as the surrounding 360 acre estate, while sauna, steam room, gym, and swimming facilities offer the ideal preparation for those teeing off early the next day (packages start at £45 p/p).

South of the border, The Humber Royal Hotel stands adjacent to the famed Cleethorpes Golf Club, established in the late 1894 and retaining many of its original features today (packages start at £85 p/p).  While for those looking for something a little close to London, The Suffolk Golf Hotel & Spa offers an 18 hole championship standard course with natural water features along the banks of the River Lark.  Spa facilities are available to soothe those aches and pains, (with packages starting at just £45 p/p when staying on a Sunday night).
